Award winners – Scientists at the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute win the Best Paper Award 2011 given by the European Association for Signal Processing
For their paper on quality enhancement for 3D content, researchers at the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI have received the Best Paper Award 2011 from the European Association for Signal Processing ( EURASIP). Their paper proposes a method which significantly reduces the number of errors such as coding errors that appear in the generation of different views for 3D displays that do not require glasses. The award was given to Karsten Müller, Aljoscha Smolic, Kristina Dix, Philipp Merkle, Peter Kauff and Thomas Wiegand on 1st September at the 19th European Signal Processing Conference in Barcelona.
