Three exhibits are showcased within the booth of Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications, Heinrich-Hertz-Institut (HHI).
The Image Processing group of HHI presents "Visual Radio" as a new solutions for broadcasting multimedia services to mobile devices.
Further exhibits dealing with 3D display and man-machine interaction are presented by Interactive Media - Human Factors department.

Visual Radio

Mobile TV offers many opportunities for new audio-visual services. One most appealing application is Visual Radio, which is characterized by excellent audio, accompanied by visual information such as music covers, slide shows, information charts etc. at low frame rate (e.g. 0.5 Hz). Visual Radio based on DVB-H is presented, using HE-AAC audio coding and H.264/AVC video coding technology running at very low bit rates (15-20 kbit/s). This demonstration shows the latest product out of a complete family of AV encoding and crypting solutions for DVB-H, T-DMB, DAB-IPDC and MBMS developed by Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications, Heinrich-Hertz-Institut (HHI).
