iPoint – Your Finger as Remote Control in the Kitchen

iPoint Control – Your Finger as Remote Control in the Kitchen

iPoint technology enables contact-free, gestural human-computer-interaction – communicate intuitively without any need to wear data gloves or touch surfaces. The system consists of two digital cameras, which record movements of fingers and hands to be transferred to a computer. Our software calculates 3D coordinates of fingers and hands from the video data and recognizes simple hand gestures in real-time. Thus various multimedia applications and even domestic appliances can be controlled completely contact-free. Gestural interaction is important where direct contact is either not possible or not intended – such as in kitchens, operating theatres or public spaces.

ViTOC – Visual Table of Contents

ViTOC – Visual Table of Contents

The Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute presents a tool for detection of structure in videos.  Fully automatically the video is segmented into its composite scenes, shots and sub-shots which enables the rapid and accurate retrieval of any particular sequence. An in-depth table of contents is created for individual videos on the internet or in TV archives. Laborious time-consuming searches for particular scenes or sequences are thus a thing of the past.
