Interactive Media - Human Factors Terminals for Mobile Citizen Services ("MoBüD® Lite")

Einleitung

The MoBüD Lite Version

Mobile citizen services are offered in shopping malls, at weekly markets, in public libraries, hospitals and retirement homes. There it is possible to apply for ID cards, to register a new place of residence, to change the data on wage tax cards, etc.

The terminal equipment for citizen services has to meet high requirements in terms of

  • reliability and failure safety
  • ergonomics and usability
  • portability and robustness.

The Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI) offers a special "citizen services suit case" for mobile services which is suitable for various mobile administration services.

HHI offers that case now in a new, lighter version: MoBüD® Lite.

If all components that are useful for mobile citizen services (see below) are carried in that case, its weight is not more than 15 kg! If not all components are needed its weight is even less, accordingly.

The older more robust aluminum version is still being offered. However, its weight with all components is approx. 23.5 kg.

These cases that have been developed and tested at HHI can include the following components:

  • a laptop computer for using registration office software
  • a printer to print forms, certificates etc.
  • a scanner to scan DIGANT® forms
  • a payment terminal to pay services with a debit card
  • a smart card reader for a safe login via PIN-secured chip card and to protect the data transfer
  • a compact fingerprint scanner
  • a digital sign pad
  • a premium camera for valid face close-ups on site
  • a "Visotec" terminal (German colloquial name: "ÄnTe") to alter information on the new German ID card (using RFID)

The electronic components, such as power adapters, USB hub, cables and a smart card reader are installed in a specially designed desktop box. This box can be placed in different positions on the work desk. The printer is arranged flexible on the desktop box and the notebook and the other components can be positioned at any location on the desk.

The design of the MoBüD® cases is customized according to the needs and wishes of the customer which provides a flexible use under different circumstances.
