Project description
In accordance with the objectives of the MPEG-7 standardization the project is concerned with the description, the organization and the retrieval of multimedia data. Scenarios and algorithms are being developed supporting the users' search and navigation in image databases in an intelligent way. Additionally, image descriptors and a user-adaptive visualization systems are developed.

Achievements

• empirical studies of semantic correspondences between search results
• empirical study of psychologically relevant features of color patterns
• new intuitive 2D/3D visualization of the "image space"
• intuitive navigation in the image space
• development and implementation of software-demonstrators
