The World Health Summit is an annual conference of the M8 Alliance . The Fraunhofer HHI is partner of the event which takes place from October 27 to 29, 2019.
This year the World Health Summit will once again bring together around 2,000 internationally renowned representatives from science, business, politics and civil society in Berlin. The aim is to improve health all over the planet, catalyzing that process through collaboration and open dialogue, and steering tomorrow’s agenda to improve research, education, healthcare, and policy outcomes. To achieve this, researchers, physicians, key government officials, and representatives from industry as well as from NGOs and healthcare systems are discussing urgent problems facing health care and medicine in the upcoming decade and beyond.
At this year's summit, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Wiegand, Executive Director of the Fraunhofer HHI, will chair the panel discussion "Artificial Intelligence for Health. How to Ensure Quality?” on October 28. He will also participate as a speaker in the panel discussion on "Health Data as a Global Public Good" one day later.
The World Health Summit is under the patronage of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron. In addition, the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, will assume the annual patronage.
