MINIMUM
MINIMUM
Miniaturisierte Multisensor-Plattform für schnellen Label-freien optischen Molekülnachweis

MINIMUM will develop a novel sensor platform for bioanalytics building the basis to set-up a new generation of diagnostic equipment. This will enable the realisation of cost efficient, reliable transportable/handheld sensor systems with miniaturised elements for multiplexed signal analysis.
The project is structured in a research oriented and an application oriented phase. The research oriented phase is scheduled for two years with a person effort of 14 person years and a volume of 2.5 M€. The project will end up with a proof of concept lab demonstrator for the detection of Staphylococcus aureus (SA) germs as a first example. This Point-of-Care sensor will enable the fast and reliable detection without the necessity to use labelling or time-consuming multiplication of germs. The applied sensor platform will incorporate optical microresonators achieving a high specificity by using a modulation technique for individual analysis of the activation of diverse antibody/antigen reactions via evanescent field sensing.
