Our Profile
The Fraunhofer German-Sino Lab for Mobile Communications (FhG-MCI) was founded in 2003 to carry out cutting edge research on future generations of wireless networks. The FhG-MCI is located at the Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications, Heinrich-Hertz-Institute (FhG-HHI) in Berlin, Germany.
The FhG-MCI is intended to cover various aspects of wireless communications, and also to corroborate and initiate joint Chinese and German research activities, particularly by cooperating with the Sino-German Joint Software Institute JSI in Beijing. The FhG-MCI develops solutions within a wide range, from information theory via algorithm design to the system- and network simulation. Special emphasis is put on interference management, cross-layer optimization, cognitive radio, multiantenna systems (MIMO), self-organization and self-optimization, heterogeneous access management, cooperative systems, protocol design, wired backhaul networks, wireless ad-hoc and sensor networks, power-line communications, vehicle-to-vehicle communications, Long Term Evolution (LTE) and the technologies beyond.
