Realistic, high-resolution musicians in XR
Duration: January 2026 – December 2027
ProFIT – project financing by Investitionsbank Berlin with financial support by European Regional Development Fund (EFRE) and the government of Berlin
Joint research project with small and medium enterprises
The aim of the ‘XRIA’ project is to create a new digital application format that allows top musicians to be experienced up close and in the highest degree of realism in an XR experience. The basis for this is volumetric video technology. Two use cases are to be implemented in the project as examples:
- an XR masterclass in which, for example, music students or interested parties can experience a top musician up close in an XR experience (e.g. in a learning situation) and
- a multi-user XR concert performance, e.g. from the field of pop music.
