Intel AI Academic Student Workshop at the Forum Digital Technologies
On December 6, 2019, the Intel AI Academic Student Workshop will take place in the Forum Digital Technologies at the CINIQ Center of the Fraunhofer HHI. The event is organized in cooperation with the Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin) and is aimed at students and researchers alike.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is gaining momentum every day. That means hands-on experience, developer toolkits and the sharing of ideas are more important than ever. The practical Intel AI Academic Workshop focuses on the areas of Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning and AI. During the workshop, Wojciech Samek, head of Machine Learning group at Fraunhofer HHI, will give a lecture on AI technologies at the Institute.

AI technologies @ Fraunhofer HHI - presented by Dr. Wojciech Samek, Group Leader Machine Learning, Fraunhofer HHI
- The main research focus of the Machine Learning group of Fraunhofer HHI is the theory, methods and applications of deep learning. This includes an information-theoretical analysis of deep representations, the development of efficient data analysis techniques and novel deep architectures as well as the use of state-of-the-art neural network models for classification and regression tasks on image, text, video and time series data. Timely research topics such as explainable artificial intelligence (XAI), interpretable and reliable machine learning, compression of neural networks or the convergence between machine learning and communications are also investigated by the group.
