Photonics Days Berlin Brandenburg 2020

OCT 2020

5 - 8

Virtual

The International Innovation Conference Photonic Days Berlin Brandenburg, now in its third edition, will take place as a virtual event this year due to security measures against Covid-19. The four-day event running from Oct.5 – 8, aims at connecting members of the photonics community from various sectors and regions. In this context, Dr. Moritz Kleinert, researcher at the department “Photonic Components” at Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI), will lead an online workshop on Hybrid Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) together with the Dutch cooperation partner Photon Delta.

Berlin Brandenburg is not only one of the innovation hotspots in the diverse fields of Photonics, Optics, Microsystems Technologies and Quantum Technologies, but also a start-up hotspot in digital and photonics-based technologies. Photonics Days Berlin Brandenburg 2020 intend to provide the international photonics community with a platform for exchanging information on latest technical developments, manufacturing and testing challenges as well as market opportunities. About 100 speakers from 20 countries will give English language presentations in online seminars on topics such as Fiber Optics, THz Analytics, Soft X-Ray Analytics, Optics for Solar Energy, Photonic Integrated Circuits, Agriphotonics, Quantum Technologies, Ophthalmology, High Power MIR Laser Technology and the Manufacturability of High Precision Optical and LIDAR Systems.

As part of the event, Fraunhofer HHI researcher Dr. Moritz Kleinert will lead a workshop on hybrid PICs at 10:00 a.m. on October 7, 2020 together with Guiseppe Coppola, a representative of the Dutch cooperation partner Photon Delta. The workshop will bring together experts from both countries to discuss latest developments in photonic integration technology along the entire value chain from integration platforms, design and packaging to applications enabled by photonic integration. The objective is to strengthen existing international cooperation, to generate new contacts and stimulate new ideas for future innovations.

Photonics Days Berlin Brandenburg 2020 are jointly organized by OpTecBB e. V., Cluster Photonics Berlin Brandenburg and the Enterprise Europe Network BerlinBrandenburg. In addition to regular online seminars, the organizers also offer their platform for B2B networking.

Participation is free of charge, but prior registration  is necessary to get full access to all services.
