Berlin 6G Conference 2026
SEP 2026
08 - 10
Berlin, Germany
The Fraunhofer Heinrich-Hertz-Institut (HHI) is a world leader in the development for mobile and optical communication networks and systems as well as processing and coding of video signals. Together with international partners from research and industry, Fraunhofer HHI works in the whole spectrum of digital infrastructure – from fundamental research to the development of prototypes and solutions.
At Berlin 6G-Conference 2026 Fraunhofer HHI presents the latest developments and projects in Wireless Communications and Networks and Photonic Networks and Systems.
xG-RIC at the 6G Conference
Technology Transfer Hub for Medicine and Mobility of the Future
As part of the xG Research and Innovation Cluster (xG-RIC), we are jointly presenting a permanently installed demonstrator at the 6G Conference 2026 at booth B32. The demonstrator illustrates the potential of future 6G-based medical technologies by capturing key patient vital signs in real time and visualizing them reliably with low latency.
The system is complemented by a modern, highly flexible hospital bed, which serves as an integral part of the demonstration and opens up new perspectives for connected, patient-centric care concepts. The objective is to showcase technology transfer into medical applications in a practical manner and to make the potential of intelligent infrastructure for future healthcare and mobility tangible.
SUSTAINET
Sustainable Technologies for Advanced, Resilient, and Energy-Efficient Networks
SUSTAINET is at the 6G Conference 2026 at booth B36. The international research project, part of the CELTIC-NEXT initiative, aims to develop innovative technologies and solutions that improve the resilience, energy efficiency, and sustainability of networks. In doing so, SUSTAINET contributes to Europe’s digital transformation and technological sovereignty.
Funded by National and European research programs under the CELTIC-NEXT initiative.
SHINKA
Secure hybrid infrastructure of digital twins for optical networks
The SHINKA project aims to research and develop all the essential building blocks of a secure and sovereign Digital Twin (DT) Federation Platform –envisioned as a high-fidelity and trustworthy ecosystem for the design, control, management, and optimization of high-speed all-optical networks. These networks offer high transmission capacities with low energy consumption, which is optimized and increased through the use of artificial intelligence. SHINKA also promotes cooperation between leading partners in order to set international standards for this future technology.
Funded as part of the BMBF funding measure “Digital twins and data models for all-optical high-speed networks”.
