Laser World of Photonics 2026
SEP 2026
16 - 18
Bengaluru, India
The Fraunhofer Heinrich-Hertz-Institut (HHI) is a world leader in the development for mobile and optical communication networks and systems as well as processing and coding of video signals. Together with international partners from research and industry, Fraunhofer HHI works in the whole spectrum of digital infrastructure – from fundamental research to the development of prototypes and solutions.
At Laser World of Photonics (India) 2026 Fraunhofer HHI presents the latest developments in Photonic Components and Systems at our booth LC43 from September 16-18 in Bengaluru, India.
100 GHz Balanced Photodetector Module for O- and C-band
High-Bandwidth Balanced Photodetector Module
Fraunhofer HHI provides balanced photodetector modules with a bandwidth up to 100 GHz operating in the O- and the C-band. Designed for next-generation coherent optical systems, the modules enable the detection of ultra-high-speed signals up to 200 GBaud higher order QAM signals. The photodetector chips inside the modules are based on mature InP technology and are fabricated at the wafer process line of Fraunhofer HHI, offering Telcordia and space-qualified processes. The chips are packaged at Fraunhofer HHI facilities.
145 GHz Photodetector Module
High-Speed Detection for Next-Generation Optical Communication
Fraunhofer HHI provides high-speed photodetector modules with up to 145 GHz bandwidth for next-generation datacom, telecom and microwave photonics applications. The InP-based photodetector chips are fabricated and packaged at Fraunhofer HHI using mature wafer-level processes, including Telcordia and space-qualified technologies, enabling reliable detection of optical signals up to 200 GBaud.
Single Photon Avalanche Photodiode Module and Arrays
Single Photon Detection for Quantum Communication and Sensing
Fraunhofer HHI provides photodetector modules for single photon detection operating from the O- to the L-band. The SPAD chips inside the modules are based on mature InP technology and are fabricated in the wafer process line of Fraunhofer HHI, with Telcordia and space-qualified processes. The SPAD supply chain is completely within EU, including packaging at the Fraunhofer HHI facility.
Mode Locked Laser Module
Mode-Locked Lasers as Comb and Pulse Sources
Fraunhofer HHI provides high performance mode-locked lasers modules for the O-, C-, and L-Band. The buried heterostructure InAs/InP quantum dot and InGaAsP/InP quantum well mode-locked lasers can serve as integrated comb and pulse sources.
