Slawomir Stanczak, Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute, and Mario Goldenbaum, TU Berlin, have been honored with a prize by the Information Technology Society (ITG) at the Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies (VDE) for their excellent publication “Robust Analog Function Computation via Wireless Multiple-Access Channels”, published in the September 2013 issue of the IEEE Transactions on Communications. The awarding ceremony took place as part of the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the ITG at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Berlin.
“The authors develop a new scheme that exploits the superposition of signals from different transmitters for an efficient function computation in wireless networks. The mathematical analysis of the proposed scheme demonstrates its huge potential for performance gains, which completes the overall outstanding impression,” said Prof. Wolff, chairman of ITG.
The Society honors with its awards extraordinary accomplishments and achievements of academic talents and excellent scientists. Hereby, creativeness of the ITG members and practical developments of the information and communication technologies should be appreciated specially.
