Prof. Ronald Freund from Fraunhofer HHI will hold the Conference Chair at the “IoT Enabling Sensing/Network/AI and Photonics Conference 2018“

Ronald Freund, Head of Photonic Networks and Systems Department at Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI, and Norihiro Hagita, from ATR Intelligent Robotics and Communication Laboratories, will hold the Conference Chair of the “IoT Enabling Sensing/Network/AI and Photonics Conference 2018“ at the ”OPTICS & PHOTONICS International Congress 2018“ (OPIC2018). The Congress will take place from the 23rd to 27th of April 2018 at Pacifico in Yokohama, Japan.

The OPIC is the largest congress for OPTICS and PHOTONICS in Japan and one of the largest and most prestigious events in the field worldwide. The objective of OPIC2018 is to discuss the future of our society, which will be realized by optics and photonics, based on the most updated knowledge and technologies worldwide. The congress, which is held annually in close cooperation between academia and industry in Japan, is comprised of Specialized International Conferences, covering a broad range of fields that are all very active at present. The OPIC2018 will further deepen the linkage to the co-located “OPTICS & PHOTONICS International Exhibition” (OPIE’18). Apart from the already mentioned objectives of the OPIC2018, the congress and the co-located OPIE’18 offer a platform to connect with reputable Japanese industry representatives such as DOCOMO, Hamamatsu Photonics, Panasonic, Mitsubishi Electric or NEC.
