Fraunhofer HHI researchers receive Best Demo Award at the ICVR 2019

At the „International Conference on Virtual Rehabilitation 2019” (ICVR) in Tel Aviv, Israel, Fraunhofer HHI researchers of the deparment Vision and Imaging Technologies won the Best Demo Award. The conference that took place from July 21 to 24, 2019, provided an overview of applied and clinical research on technologies in the field of virtual rehabilitation.

The award honored the "immersive Virtual Memory Task" (imVMT) demo of the Fraunhofer HHI researchers Mykyta Kovalenko, Detlef Runde, Paul Chojecki and David Przewozny. The demo is a result of the project VReha : „Virtual realities for digital diagnostics and cognitive rehabilitation – Virtual reality as future-oriented element in the computer-aided cognitive rehabilitation”, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The goal of the project is to use the potential of Virtual Reality (VR) to immerse sufferers of a stroke or craniocerebral trauma in a computer-animated 3D world and to diagnose and treat them with the help of VR. Researchers from medicine and science, the Charité – Universitätsmedizin/Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute Berlin, the Institute for Cognitive Neurology at the Universitätsklinikum Leipzig, the Max Planck Institute for Human Cogntitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig and the medical technology company HASOMED GmbH.
