Prof. Slawomir Stanczak from Fraunhofer HHI elected member of EURASIP SAT SPCN

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Slawomir Stanczak, Head of Wireless Communications and Networks Department at Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI, was elected as a new member of the „European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP)“ in the special area team „Signal Processing for Communications and Networking (SAT SPCN)“.

The non-profit association EURASIP aims at improving communication between groups and individuals that work within the multidisciplinary field of signal processing in Europe and elsewhere. Of fundamental importance is the exchange and dissemination of information in the field of signal processing, as well as the support of the efforts of researchers by providing a learned and professional platform for dissemination and discussion of all aspects of signal processing, signal theory and applications of signal processing systems and technology.
The scope of functions of EURASIP includes organizing conferences, exhibitions and meetings, which consequently furthers the current state of research in the field of signal processing.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Slawomir Stanczak was elected as a member of the special area team „Signal Processing for Communiactions and Networking (SAT SPCN)“ on the 16th of December 2017. The team is devoted to signal processing conceived for communication and networking with applications in the fields of next generation systems designed for crowd sensing, smart cities, autonomy and the Internet of Things. In principle, the SPCN team addresses signal processing techniques for synchronization, coded modulation, cooperation, diversity, localization, quantum systems and networks.
