5G-EPICENTRE

5G is considered the broadband mobile technology of the next decade and offers the opportunity to significantly increase the efficiency and effectiveness of critical operations in the field of public protection and disaster relief (PPDR). As part of the 5G-EPICENTRE project, the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute is providing an open end-to-end experimentation platform to test hardware and software solutions for PPDR applications.

6G-RIC

6G-RIC is an interdisciplinary and coordinated collaboration linking a total of 32 research groups from 20 universities and research institutions supported by over 60 associate partners from science, industry and the public sector.

This is intended to enable vendor independence and more competition and innovation in order to strengthen the digital sovereignty of companies in Germany.

MassIMO

MassIMO "Cell Free Massive MIMO Systems" researches the scientific and technical fundamentals of massive MIMO technology as the basis for new 6G network architectures. As part of this project, the Heinrich Hertz Institute is working in close cooperation with the project partners on the development of a 6G radio unit for the FR3 frequency band.

THIEM:COTTBUS 5G

As part of the "digital hospital" project (ThiemCB5G), the Carl-Thiem-Klinikum in Cottbus is being used as an example to conceptually investigate the extent to which medical care can be significantly improved in rural areas through the use of 5G technologies, such as 5G campus networks.
