The mm-Wave Group (mm-Wave) focuses on design, simulation, and implementation of mobile communication systems, mainly in the frequency range between 6 GHz and 100 GHz. Within the last decade the group gained excellent expertise in channel measurements, in antenna design, and in advanced transceiver technologies like switch mode amplifiers and full duplex transmission. These activities include also the design of specialized digital and analog hardware and the experimental implementation of the developed solutions.

Research Topics

The current research focuses on

  • Utilization of higher frequency bands (mm-waves) within 5G
  • Channel sounder development up to100 GHz
  • Channel measurement campaigns and parameter extraction
  • mm-wave transceivers and antennas for 5G access and backhaul
  • Full Duplex Communications
