Duration: October 2016 - March 2018

The PMSE (Programme Making and Special Events) is an intersectoral bridge building project between the mobile communications industry and creative and cultural industries. It is a pre-competitive research project supported by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure and aims to consider the technological and economic feasibility of the future-oriented application of mobile communications technology and network infrastructure for production, event and conference technology. The PMSE-xG project hereby sees the new generation mobile communication 5G as a key technology for integration. Therefore, highly robust and low latency streaming technologies for mobile and nomadic applications are in the forefront of the research. Here, the PMSE-xG project focuses above all on events, production, distribution, audience services and conference systems as potential applications. The connection of professional wireless audio, video and innovative multimedia services makes a new generation of immersion at productions, live events (concerts, public broadcasts) possible as well as the integration of the necessary communication services on a shared technical platform. Here, PMSE-xG is a key project, a trailblazer and pioneer for other vertical industries (eHealth, Industry 4.0, Automotive) and 5G integration.
