COPA EUROPE aims to address the exploding demand for non-linear sports consumption (live and eSports) by leveraging Over the Top (OTT) sports media services and combining them with new set of media technologies that will democratize the consumer experience, enable cost-sensitive live video from anywhere, and personalize the distribution to change the experience of each viewer individually. COPA EUROPE will deliver a cloud-based infrastructure for harvesting, accommodating, transmitting and distributing digital media with regards to sport and competitive events, including the infrastructure needed to allow content creators and producers of live coverage to react to live outcomes, via innovative workflows.

Within this project, Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute, in cooperation with the Innovations-cluster 5G Berlin provides a 5G mobile radio test site, which is located between the Fraunhofer HHI building and the campus of the Technical University of Berlin. The testbed will be used for testing, verification and demonstration of use cases and project results. The researchers of Fraunhofer HHI enable the project partners to test their novel algorithms and technologies in a real 5G mobile network environment.
