Development of innovative solutions for high-quality recording of building spaces using automated control of UAV swarms for efficient building surveying and flexible 3D data acquisition in the construction sector.
Duration: November 2025 – September 2027
ZIM – Central Innovation Programme for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
The Follow AI project focuses on developing innovative solutions for high-quality object space capture using automated control of UAV swarms for efficient object surveying and flexible 3D data capture in the construction sector. The aim is to use several micro-UAVs (preferably of the C0 category) in a synchronised swarm to fly over, capture and semantically correctly classify building objects to be surveyed in an efficient and coordinated manner through optimised flight planning and control. The complex qualification processes are to be raised to a new level of human-system interaction in terms of quantity and quality, in particular through AI-supported semantic capture and process control. Barriers to use are to be removed through the development and integration of AI-supported large language models. The project has the potential to make existing surveying and documentation processes significantly more efficient and precise.
