Focus: Ambisonics, Wave Field Synthesis, and object-based audio for 360°/VR.
He designs multichannel audio installations, oversees the TiME-Lab showroom and coordinates media-production logistics for research and industry related projects.
Biography
Steffen Günther is a Research Associate in the Capture & Display Systems group at Fraunhofer HHI. His work focuses on spatial-audio recording and production for immersive audiovisual systems as well as the hardware implementation of sensors for realtime media interaction.
He employs Ambisonics and object-based audio workflows next to classical channel based audio production to support Wave Field Synthesis and other immersive 360°/ VR systems. He provides technical support and content oversight of the TiME-Lab showroom at HHI and coordinates media-production logistics for internal and external research and industry projects.
Steffen holds a M.A. in Computing and the Arts and a B.A. in Audiodesign.
