KlangVU
Artificial soundscapes for immersive virtual environments.
Duration: May 2025 – September 2027
The KlangVU project develops technologies for the automated acoustic design of virtual environments. The aim is the realistic generation of so-called soundscapes for digital twins by interpreting 3D models using AI-based scene analysis and linking them with procedurally generated and recording-based 3D audio signals. The developed modules enable dynamic, real-time sound rendering depending on environmental parameters such as weather, time, and spatial position, and are directly integrated into common game engines. This significantly improves the immersion and intuitive comprehensibility of virtual spaces, particularly for applications in planning, communication, and training.
